Omaha and Omaha 8 or better

The growing popularity of Omaha, Omaha 8 or better, and the High/Low variation are due to the strategic depth of these community card games. Unlike Texas Hold’em, Omaha uses 4 individual pocket cards for each player and 5 community cards for all players plus the use of exactly two of their hole cards and three of the community cards to form a hand. The number of possible combinations is much higher than in Hold’em which creates complicated situations and calls for advanced playing while taking higher risks at the same time. In Omaha 8 or better the pot is split between the best High and the best Low hand, which adds even more interesting options for a player to decide. All in all, these youngest members of the poker family surely have a great future ahead.
